More Media Distortions. Ho Hum.

From Yahoo:

So what does a Romney budget mean for our country?

“Big cuts to many basic services.”

Really? Which basic services does the federal government provide to me? Oh, right, none.

“Guns over butter.”

Sounds like some more malarkey.

And then, on the side, “A GOP ‘reign of terror’”.

I don’t even want to know.

Followed by “Obama’s war chest” – They just can’t wait to make Obama’s numbers look good, huh?

For starters, the Obama war chest page screams the following headline (from AP, no less):

Obama enjoys 10-1 financial edge over Romney, having amassed $104M war chest for election

But… Romney is so rich, he can’t relate to the American people, and he will just buy the election with his rich Republican backers! Pfft.

Guns over butter article:

Reducing government deficits Mitt Romney’s way would mean less money for health care for the poor and disabled and big cuts to nuts-and-bolts functions such as food inspection, border security and education.

None of this is backed by actual facts, but, hey, it’s the media. Poor and disabled people losing money. Gee, you know, how about we tackle that 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities? Or perhaps we set caps on who can cash in on Medicare/Medicaid based on your retirement salary/savings?

Food inspection cuts? Obviously, we need to make this all more efficient. To say the GOP will reduce food safety standards is absurd. Something I’d expect out of a lying liberal teacher, not people with brains.

Border security?! Well, if we create some more unmanned systems, then, yes, we would need to hire less people. The borders are a winning issue for the GOP, this attack is just trying to change the GOP’s position. Of course, it’s a dumb point, but this article looks a lot like a short talking-points card for liberals to carry.

Education? We’ve been increasing education funding since the 70′s – in fact, education spending is much greater than military spending. Yet liberals fail to see that there is no correlation between increased education spending and higher performance levels. Again, facts are irrelevant for the left..

Obama’s budget generally avoids risk, with minimal cuts to rapidly growing health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid while socking wealthier people with tax increases. It’s all part of an effort to close trillion-dollar-plus deficits.

Little do they know that Obama’s budget actually increases the deficit. I happen to trust the CBO more than the White House, who fudges the unemployment numbers.

You can go ahead and read the article yourself. It gets a little better, but then it ends by citing some ridiculous leftist saying that the American public just can’t handle the truth of the Romney and Ryan budgets – you know, since we need the federal government to hold our hands when we cross the street.

Except at the other end of the street is the Suicide Cliff. It’s time America wakes up and tackles our problems. Or we will not survive as a country.
